Who we are
This website is operated by Zac Marley, trading as Marley Marketing, a sole trader based in Bristol, UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Zac Marley is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact zac@marleymarketing.co.uk.
What data we collect and why
Contact form
When you fill in the contact form on this site, we collect your name, email address, business or company name, message, and optionally your website address. This is used to respond to your enquiry, understand what you need help with, and follow up about working together.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests, specifically responding to enquiries from people who have chosen to contact us. Where your enquiry is about entering into a contract with us, we may also rely on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering into that contract.
Booking a call
The contact page includes an embedded booking calendar provided directly by Google (Google Calendar appointment scheduling). When you book a call through this embed, the details you enter, such as your name, email address, and chosen time, are submitted directly to Google and handled under Google’s own privacy policy. We receive the resulting appointment details (name, email, and time) so that we can prepare for and carry out the call.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests in arranging and delivering the call you have requested, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use this site, such as which pages are viewed and how people arrive here. This involves setting cookies and similar technologies, described in more detail below.
Lawful basis: consent, given through the cookie controls on this site. You can withdraw this consent at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This site uses the following:
- Google Analytics (cookies such as
_gaand_ga_*) — used to measure site traffic and usage, on an anonymised or pseudonymised basis where possible. - Google Tag Manager — used to manage the analytics tags above. It does not itself collect personal data beyond what is described for Google Analytics.
This site also loads fonts directly from Google Fonts. Loading a font this way means your device connects to Google’s servers, which will see your IP address as part of that request. Google’s own privacy policy covers how it handles this.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site, including the contact form and booking calendar.
Who we share your data with
We use the following third parties to help run this site and respond to enquiries. Each only receives the data it needs to provide its service to us:
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) — used to send the email notification when you submit the contact form, so we receive your enquiry.
- Google LLC — provides Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (site analytics), Google Calendar (the booking embed on the contact page), and Google Fonts (the typefaces used on this site).
- Hostinger — our web hosting provider, which stores the site and any data submitted to it on its servers.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to provide appropriate safeguards, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision, to protect your data to UK standards.
How long we keep your data
- Contact form enquiries: kept for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, or for as long as needed if you become a client, after which they are deleted.
- Booking and call details: kept for as long as needed to deliver the call and any resulting work, then deleted or archived in line with normal business record-keeping.
- Analytics data: retained in Google Analytics in line with our account settings, typically no longer than 14 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct any data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data, where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
- Ask us to restrict how we use your data.
- Object to us processing your data on the basis of legitimate interests.
- Ask us to transfer your data to you or another organisation, where technically possible.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent, for example for analytics cookies.
To exercise any of these rights, email zac@marleymarketing.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator. You can reach the ICO at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concerns directly first, but you are not required to contact us before contacting the ICO.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool or service that processes personal data. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. We recommend checking back occasionally if you want to stay informed.
